Race Report from the Brands Hatch Sprint Races

The annual Ford Power Live sprints were once again hailed as a great success, here's how they went:

Octane Junkies Adam Smith won race one, following penalties for both the IP Racing cars of Adam Blair and Stratton Mackay. Smith having qualified fourth, held off the charging CHR Motorsport by just three tenths of a second to take eventual victory. Brother Martyn in the sister Octane Junkies car took the last podium place, with Adam Blair’s IP Racing KA finally finishing fourth following a time penalty for a flag infringement. Burton Powers Tom Valentine was able to climb up to fifth from tenth on the grid, with Peak Performance Reviews replicating the achievement, albeit further down the grid climbing from fifteenth to tenth. Frugal Racing fell from third on the grid, just staying in the top twenty when the flag came down.

Adam Blair was able to redeem himself claiming the victory in the second race of the weekend. Blair bested race one podium finisher, Martyn Smith by just under a second to take the win. Race one winner Adam Smith had to settle for third this time just behind the sister Octane Junkies car of Martyn. Club Racing UK came fourth with CHR Motorsport in fifth, just ahead of Burton Power, PistonHeads and Peak Performance reviews who crossed the line together. Shine Automotive climbed from twenty third to sixteenth.

Blair takes the win again, this time ahead of CHR Motorsport following a great start from fifth on the grid. Valentine in the Burton Power KA crept onto the podium for the first time of weekend, to take third ahead of the two Octane Junkies cars in fourth and fifth. Club Racing UK dropped from fourth to seventh, just ahead of a stellar performance from series newcomers Team Deranged in eighth overall.

Adam Blair and IP racing completed the Sunday hatrick and took a third win of the weekend. Second went to Valentine in the Burton Power KA, despite being under constant pressure from the two Octane Junkies cars with Martyn in third, and Adam in fourth. Fifth went to a recovering Frugal Racing, despite being a pit lane starter in race three. Team PistonHeads had another strong and consistent race to finish sixth, this time just ahead of CHR Motorsport in seventh. 107 Racing rounded out the top ten, having climbed from fourteenth on the grid.
