The second round of the 2021 EnduroKA season took place at Cadwell Park last weekend with 44 Ford KAs enduring a six-hour battle around the Lincolnshire Wolds circuit.
The IP Racing trio of Adam Blair, Scott Parkin and Oliver Wilmot battled their #36 car onto the front row with a lap time of 1m 55.137s, and in doing so secured their second pole position of the season. The Donington Park race winners of Octane Junkies lined up alongside, followed by Barwell Autosport in third.
IP Racing took full advantage of their grid position and stormed into the lead, keeping the chasing pack firmly in their rear view mirror, however a red flag caused the race to be halted. Once the race restarted it was IP Racing back in the lead again, holding the rest of the chasing pack firmly in their rear view mirror for the opening 21 laps.
The PistonHeads squad of Peter Dignan, Benjamin Lowden and Sam Sheehan then took the lead in their #98 car and enjoyed a successful run at the front, before the #64 car of Autotech Motorsport’s Luca Anzanello, Andrew Howell and Reece Kellow took control. Another red flag put a brief pause to the race, however Autotech Motorsport remained in control upon the restart, with IP Racing quickly moving up into second.
Meanwhile the Burton Power Racing squad went on the offensive and begun improving on their original eighth place start, picking their way through the field and even enjoying a brief spell at the front.
Later on it was the original pole position starters of IP Racing who were back in the lead, fending off numerous attacks to go on and take the chequered flag six hours after lights out.
Just over three and a half seconds behind them was Adam Smith, Martyn Smith and Bazza Ward who took to the second step of the podium in the #111 Octane Junkies car, fending off Burton Power’s Andy Burton, Kyle Sagar and Tom Valentine. KPR and Suceria Bowron rounded out the top five.
