There’s not long left until KAdwell Park once again welcomes a whole host of Mk1 Ford KAs to the Lincolnshire Wolds. EnduroKA has enjoyed three spectacular trips to the circuit since the series inception in 2019 and we eagerly await the next installment on June 24th.
Cadwell Park is a circuit which can simultaneously be both extremely challenging and rewarding. Winning a race there is no easy feat and to best a six-hour endurance test at the circuit is especially impressive, as teammates will need to execute the perfect race strategy and demonstrate strong, consistent pace.
On the series inaugural KAdwell Park race in 2019 we were treated to an absolute classic. After 166 laps of the Lincolnshire circuit only six seconds separated the top two, with Octane Junkies’ lineup of Adam Smith/Martyn Smith/Barry Ward heading Team K.A.R over the line. The battle for the third and final step of the podium was even tighter, with SuperKA Racing edging PistonHeads by just 0.629secs! All of the afore-mentioned teams had enjoyed excellent races amongst a highly competitive field and were more than worthy of their podium finishes.
The battle for the KAdwell Park top step in 2021 was just as hotly-contested as 2019’s race. As the race timer counted down from the six hour mark, Octane Junkies again found themselves towards the head of the 44-strong field. However, this time they found themselves having to settle for second, finishing a narrow 3.627sec behind the #36 KA of IP Racing. Drivers Adam Blair/Scott Parkin/Oliver Wilmot had demonstrated exceptional pace consistently throughout the weekend to convert their pole position to race victory. The third step of the podium in 2021 belonged to the #1 KA of Burton Power, who also displayed excellent pace throughout the weekend.
Last time out at KAdwell Park in 2022, IP Racing managed to achieve what Octane Junkies almost did the year prior by taking a second consecutive victory at the Lincolnshire circuit. IP Racing’s Adam Blair/Scott Parkin/Ryan Parkin delivered a masterclass performance to take the top step once more, ahead of AxiaMetrics.com and Turn 7. A huge congratulations to the #36 KA!
Of the three KAdwell Park races, Octane Junkies currently hold the honours of fastest lap – 1:54:765secs (2021).
Which teams will add their names to the prestigious winners and podium finishers lists in 2023?
